Speculative Fiction Writing Workshops

Do you need some help with your latest Work in Progress? Do you want to improve your skills as a writer?

The Speculative Fiction Writer's Toolkit is here for you!! We will be running regular online workshops that are aimed at helping you to improve certain aspects of your writing, such as character building and plot development. These are available to all members of the Toolkit.

Current Workshop - Character Profiling

Characterisation is one of the most important, and one of the trickiest, parts of writing. Trying to get your characters right can have you screaming at your computer and pulling you hair out in frustration!

So, what can you do about it? The secret is, you need to spend time with your characters. By learning more about your characters, you will have a much better idea of their motivations and what makes them tick. The more intimately you know your characters, the more alive they will appear to your readers.

The Speculative Fiction Writer's Toolkit has a brand new workshop in profiling characters. Here is what you will learn:

Basic profiling for 2 characters - get to know their everyday details

Emotional behaviour for 2 characters - what sort of person are they? What makes them tick? What are their natural reactions?

Find your character's voice - descriptions and points of view

Character interactions - learn to apply your knowledge to create more significant interactions between your 2 characters.

This workshop is available to all members of The Speculative Fiction Writer's Toolkit. To sign up, follow the link on the left!
